When I came to Tokyo first time and stayed in Asakusa hostel, I start to walk around and explore neighbourhood.
Then I saw very very old lady, who looked so small and fragile and like 100 years old.
But she was sitting on floor and polishing, repairing shoes.
I could not believe, but it was truth.
This grandma looked a bit like my own Grandma and because of this and because she looked so cute and delicate, but also she was amazing strong spiritually, I started to like her.
I could see her every time I was in Asakusa.
I was thinking about her before I came here this year. I wondered if grandma is still there, in shopping area near Kaminarimon and if she is still working.
I went to Asakusa today and grandma was in her traditional place, repairing some shoe.
I am so glad she is still alive…
If you come to Asakusa, you can see her too.
But please, do not take pictures, because grandma doesn’t like it.
