Tanabe is such a nice place to stay and I like to be there. But I had to leave my nice old guest house and go to explore Kumano forest and mountains.

I prepared myself very carefully. My luggage was very small and I took only most important things to small back pack. I was supposed to stay few days in forest by myself so I had special equipment, all extra light, efficient and small. Camping like style of travelling is rather not Japanese way, so all my Japanese friends were a bit shocked by my idea. It is dangerous, I will be alone in forest? No place to stay? Sleep in sleeping back and hammock? Both water proof and very light. Weight of luggage does matter if man must walk through mountains and keep all belongings on his back.

Comfortable, good shoes and trousers, t-shirt and waterproof jacket. It was all I needed from clothes. Weather was still mild and warm, even if it was middle of October. I do like Japanese climate with long days of warm, sunny weather.
