What is the symbol of Japanese spring?
Naturaly, blooming cherry trees.
Cherry tree is called Sakura in Japanese and it is custom here that during blooming of
sakura trees, people go to watch beautiful pink and white flowers and celebrate.
All around of Japan poeple organize picnics under sakura trees and sitting on blue mats,
they eat and drink, having fun in groups of freinds and family circle.
Tradition of hanami- admiring cherry flowers, is very old.And I think that really lovely.
I always wanted to enjoy hanami too.
But I have never been in Japan during spring time before.
Just this year I could make my dream true.
I have enjoyed hanami...
Sakura trees are growing in many many places in Tokyo.
But in some of them there is so many of them that it looks like orchard.
Lots of sakura trees grow in Ueno park and near Imperial Palace area.
But also in temple's gardens.
In Europe cherry flowers are mostly white.
In Japan they are white, pale pink or pink.
Some sakura looks like frozen in the air snow storm, some like pink candy-floss.
Really beautiful.That is why Japanese take many many photos.I could not resist too.
Sakura is everywhere. Plastic sakura flowers are decorating shops and bars, women wear pale pink clothes
and even other flowers in flower shop have pink, sakura like colours.
The colour of Japanese spring is sakura pink.
I was not lucky to see the peak of sakura season, because i was late 2 days.
Only 2 days, but because it is rather hot spring, cherry flowers are falling very
fast.
But still I could see some sakura in full bloom and even in full moon light!
So romantic!
